Who should do this Course?

Contractors who deal with clients, contracts and tender preparation as well as small contracting businesses that need marketing skills to improve sales. It will provide you with additional skills in key areas of client communication, tender preparation, marketing and understanding and managing contracts. The course also discusses the preparation and submission of government tenders

What are the Course Objectives?

At the completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • improve your communication skills in relation to your dealings with clients and sub-contractors;
  • develop and use conflict resolution skills;
  • have a working knowledge of contracts and contract law in relation to the residential building industry and identify your responsibilities under state legislation;
  • manage variations and produce a variation procedure;
  • identify opportunities for marketing and produce a costed marketing plan;
  • submit a detailed and formal tender to a client or Government department.

Module 2: Contract law and managing variations
Module 3: Competitive tendering and marketing
Module 4: Developing quality tenders for submission to clients
