HOW WE FACILITATE YOUR LEARNING

All our courses have been designed by our in house Training Manager who is a Licensed Builder of 30 years and holds a Bachelor Degree in Training and Development from the University of New England.

Research has shown that people learn more by practicing, making mistakes and researching than attending formal classes in a stuffy classroom. With this in mind we have used various methods to assist you to learn. These include:

  • Study guides that contain all the learning materials for the course content
  • Formal text books with an accompanied study guide that tells you which pages to read and what to do
  • Your assessment details are given to you at the beginning of the course, so you know what you need to do to successfully complete the unit/subject
  • Workbooks and study guides contain practice exercises so you can get ready for your assessment
  • Some courses come with a DVD tutorial where a trainer explains the course content and advises on the best method to complete the unit/subject
  • We use a web based whiteboard, so the trainer and participant can use a pen to interact together live on the web

HOW WE SUPPORT YOUR LEARNING

Each student has a dedicated trainer to assist them. The participant can request assistance by making an appointment with the trainer Monday to Friday from 9.30 am until 4.30 pm. The trainer will contact the student by their preferred method of contact which includes:

  • By phone, the trainer will ring you at the agreed time
  • By email, where request for information is received by the trainer and answered promptly
  • By fax, if the participant wants to send work to be assessed prior to their assessment
  • By web, where we provide the participant with an internet phone program called Skype. The participant can then access their trainer directly online by voice or live chat and even written work can be scanned into the computer and sent to the participant during the call
  • Call in and talk to your trainer. If a student feels that they need personal tutoring they can come into our offices in Sydney by making an appointment with their trainer. (Maximum 1 hour per week free, then a charge may apply)

All this is included in the enrolment fee.

The Building Institute of Training and Development are dedicated to providing you with the best possible training support.

WE WORK TO YOUR PACE

Most colleges make you work to their schedule. You enrol up to twice a year and must attend classes that they schedule. Our philosophy is to assist you to study at a pace that suits you, the student. BITAD enables the student to enrol when they choose. We send you one subject at a time and then send you the next one/two units/subjects at a time and upon completion we will then issue your next unit/subject. Different people learn at different paces, so flexible distance learning provides the answer to this.
